For as long as we can remember, the beach has been where our best memories were made. It started with simple trips—just our family, a station wagon, and a sense of adventure. Some of our earliest and fondest memories were from those road trips with my mom and dad, stopping at beaches on the way home from Florida. We’d search for sand dollars and chase little crabs, sometimes forgetting them in the car—only to be reminded by the unforgettable smell a few hours later. Those trips were full of laughter, discovery, and togetherness.

Now married and moved to North Carolina, my wife and I realized something wonderful: we didn’t need to go all the way to Florida or Myrtle Beach. The North Carolina coast had everything we were looking for—beautiful shorelines, a welcoming community, and a pace of life that made it easy to reconnect with what really matters. Friends introduced us to Ocean Isle, and from there, our love for the NC coast grew.

By the early 2000s, we made it a tradition to bring our family and friends to the beach. We started renting homes—from five bedrooms to nine—depending on how many people we could gather. These weren’t just vacations; they were chapters in our story. Every year we laughed, cooked, explored, and grew closer. And every year we’d say, “One day, we’re going to have a beach house of our own.”

That dream lingered for a long time. We looked seriously in 2022, exploring places from Topsail to Figure Eight. We talked to builders, priced out options, and watched as the numbers kept climbing. At one point, we nearly gave up. Then, my wife booked us a rental on Oak Island. I remember asking her, “Where’s that?” She said, “It’s near Southport, just outside Wilmington.” My next question was, “Who goes there?”

But the moment we arrived, we knew. We fell in love with Oak Island on that very first visit. The quiet beauty, the laid-back feel, the sense that time slows down just enough to let you breathe—it had everything we were looking for. It felt like home "Our Happy Place the BEACH".

It took a while to find the perfect lot, but eventually we did. Building our beach house wasn’t just about having a place to escape to—it was about creating a space to share. A place where our kids, our friends, and future generations could come together. A place where joy lives in the sound of waves, the smell of sunscreen, and the comfort of shared meals after a day in the sun.

We built this home to honor the memories of our past and to make space for new ones. And it means the world to us to be able to share that experience with others.
